be/seRnkLPeYLo The ideal candidate will be someone who is currently enrolled in, or recently completed classes in Machine Tool Technology/Computer Aided Manufacturing.
SUMMARY Join a concise team of experienced toolmakers and machinists working with the engineering and operations departments to create diverse components used in a wide assortment of applications.
Learn to use the latest multi-axis CNC equipment as well as sharpening your skills with manual equipment.
You will use your skills to develop new medical devices, build automated machines, and fabricate intricate components to support on-site manufacturing.
The Apprentice position Is responsible for interpreting drawings, performing basic math, set-up and operation of all tool room equipment under the direction of Senior Engineering Technicians.
Also responsible for following all safety protocols as well as all company policies and procedures.
The Apprentice needs to be a pro-active communicator, always willing to ask questions and/or offer suggestions when needed.
The qualified candidate must be able to get along with everyone at Roechling Medical Lancaster and be willing to work in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Read and understand written and verbal instructions.
Read mics and calipers and be able to use, evaluate and determine the need for gauging such as the use of depth mics, point mics, offset caliper, height gage and surface plate, without supervisor.
Interpret blueprints and associated engineering symbols.
Perform math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, trigonometry, and geometry.
Obtain dimensions and points from blueprints without the need for CAD, using a calculator and advanced trigonometric and geometric functions.
Perform unsupervised setup and operation of all manual equipment:
Drill Press, Vertical Mills, Lathes, Surface Grinder, and Machining Centers.
Demonstrate safety protocols and demonstrate Machinist skill level on manual equipment.
Determine tool wear and make tooling changes with minimal supervision, including tool substitutions.
Design and build work holding fixtures for use by you or others using SolidWorks and tool room equipment.
Operates various machining equipment such as lathe, surface grinder, milling machine, drill press, and basic CNC machines.
Have experience with, or have a desire to learn, multi-axis CNC machines, Mastercam, and SolidWorks CAD.
Adhere to all company polices, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards.
Follows the official policy for Good Manufacturing Practices as required in the Medical Device Amendments to the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
Provides feedback and pro-active communication to supervisor, management, and co-workers to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Contributes input to management based on knowledge of processes toward process and product improvement efforts of the company.
